The Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament is quickly approaching. This year’s tournament will be held from August 5-10 in Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany, Slovakia. It is the precursor to the start of a new hockey season and one that puts all eyes on players eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft.

Two Ontario Hockey League players were named to the United States squad. Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers is one of two goaltenders selected. He is joined by his OHL cousin, Niagara Ice Dogs defenseman Aaron Haydon.

You may remember Nedeljkovic from last season. The fine rookie goaltender posted a 2.28 goals against average in 28 games for the Whalers and took over the number one role leading his team into the playoffs where he appeared in 15 games.
