Pictured is Ryan Sproul of the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds. He is the current scoring leader for defencemen.

Saginaw at Sault Ste Marie

This is a rematch of the game played at Saginaw last Saturday night. In that game Saginaw would score twice in the second period to eke out a 2-1 to start the third frame. The Greyhounds would score with 43 seconds left in the game to tie things up. Nick Cousins would score at 3:00 into overtime to steal the win for the visitors.  Cousins would tally 2 assists and earn first star honours.  Locke and Schumacher were the goal scorers for the Spirit.  The game would see many players penalized for head checks / checking from behind and roughing.  Should be another highly physical game!

Watch for Saginaw’s newly acquired forward from the Barrie Colts overage Gregg Sutch – the Spirit now have 4 overage players on their roster. The Greyhounds also have a new addition – they recently traded for overager Chris Buonomo to patrol the blueline for them (hometown Sault Ste Marie).

The Greyhounds have a couple of players near the top of OHL scoring. Ryan Sproul leads all Defencemen with 8 points in 4 games played this regular season.  Sergie Tolchinsky is third in rookie scoring with 4 points.
