Ontario Hockey League Game Day Previews for Wednesday March 7 2012
Questions only again – I enjoyed composing things this way last month and will try it again – hope you can play along at home. Most of the answers will be available later today.
Plymouth at Erie
Can Plymouth get a W tonight and tie things up with the Knights for #1 spot?
Will the Whalers be able to make it 7 wins in a row?
Is it reasonable to expect top scorer Noesen to score one more goal and 3 more assists to eclipse his season high marks set last season?
Will Goalie Wedgewood be able to get 4 more wins to tie his career high of 28 wins in a season?
Will Connor Crisp get goalie skates that fit him? (his jersey is on ebay and you can buy souvenir t-shirts here: http://www.ottershockey.com/article/connor-crisp-1-t-shirts-now-on-sale)
How many references / side stories will the play by play guys make in reference to that story during the broadcast?
Will the other Connor on this team (Brown) catch up to Radek Faska in rookie scoring this year (7 points between them)?
My prediction Plymouth 6 Erie 2
Ottawa at Kingston
Will Ottawa be able to make up any ground on the Icedogs this weekend (currently 3 games behind – each team has played 62 games).
Can Tyler Toffoli get on the scoresheet and wrestle the top spot in the scoring race back from Michael Sgarbossa?
Can Kingston break out of it’s 3 game losing skid? Will Ryan Kujawinski continue his solid point per game rate with his new team?
With 5 games left in the season (all at home) can Kingston win more than 8 games for it’s home crowd?
My prediction Ottawa 4 Kingston 3
Barrie at Owen Sound
Will Barrie be able to handle the Attack again (won 3-1 on Feb 29)?
Can Neiderberger get back into a hot streak (2 wins and 2 losses in last 4 starts)?
Will Tanner Pearson hit the 40 goal mark (30 goals now)?
Will Mike Halmo complete the season leading all major offensive categories (and PIM)?
Can the Attack outpace the Sting in the stretch run (currently tied with 69 pts each & equal games played)
My prediction Barrie 2 Owen Sound 3
Peterborough at Belleville
Will Peterborough be able to ‘step up’ and collect more than 2 wins in their last 5 games to make the playoff race closer? (Petes are currently 4 points behind a playoff spot)
Can the Petes match the score last time these teams met? (Petes over Bulls 4-3 on Feb 26)
Will Subban get back into the win column? (pattern in the last 9 games is to get a win after a loss – lost last game March 3)
Can the Bulls bounce back from the 10-3 rout on Saturday?
When will they get Payerl back from his contract signing injury?
My prediction Peterborough 3 Belleville 2
