The Sudbury Wolves Troy Timpano stopped 22 of 23 shots for Team Ontario at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge as they defeated Team Canada Atlantic 5-1 to improve to 2-0-0 at the tournament. 

Graham Knott (Niagara Ice Dogs) opened the scoring 4:25 into the opening frame to put Ontario up 1-0. Blake Speers (Soo Greyhounds) and Dylan Strome (Erie Otters) would draw the assists. That would be the only scoring in the period with the shots 9-6 in favor of Team Ontario.

Strome would score a goal of his own 9:46 into the second with the assists going to Speers and Sean Day (Mississauga Steelheads). It was almost 8 minutes later that Knott would add his second of the game to put Ontario up 3-0. Jakob Chychrun (Toronto Jr Canadiens) and Garrett McFadden (Guelph Storm) would earn the assists. 

The period would end with Ontario leading 3-0 and leading on the shot clock 24-16.

Travis Konecny (Ottawa 67's) was set up by Lawson Crouse (Kingston Frontenacs) 1:54 into the third to score his first of the tournament. Team Atlantic would get on the board with 6 minutes remaining when  Nicholas Welsh scored on the power play. Nathan Noel and Colby Tower assisted. Hayden McCool (Niagara Ice Dogs) scored unassisted with 33 seconds remaining to close out the scoring.

Ontario would out shoot Atlantic 32-23. Team Atlantic went 1-6 on the powerplay while Team Ontario went 0-8, including a two man advantage in the third period.

Ontario's next game is against Russia on New Years Day.
