OHL's Statistical Leaders: A Race To The Finish
With a couple of weeks remaining in the 2011-2012 OHL regular season, the race will come down to the wire in just about every category. The only race assured of ending up where it is now is in goaltending where Malcolm Subban of the Belleville Bulls leads in both goals against average and save percentage. Jake Paterson of the Saginaw Spirit has passed Dan Altshuller in both catagories for second spot.
Nail Yakupov remains in the lead in both goals and points with Belleville's Brendan Gaunce in hot pursuit. Scott Kosmachuk of the Guelph Storm is also hot on his heals in goals, trailing Yakupov byt just three.
Yakupov is tied with Gaunce in assists with 37 and both are chasing Ottawa 67's defenseman Cody Ceci who has 41. Three of the top six assist leaders just happen to be defensemen.
The Erie Otters' Connor Brown has climbed up the ranks and now sits eighth in points with 24 goals and 26 assists for 50 points, one fewer than teammate Dane Fox.
Nathan Pancel of the Sudbury Wolves continues to climb the goal scoring ranks. He now has 22 goals which puts him 5th among first time draft eligible players.
