Week 7 of the Ontario Hockey League season has come to a close and that means it’s time for the draft eligible 3 stars of the week.

To be eligible, players must be eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft and must not have been passed over in any previous draft.

1st Star-Sean Monahan-Ottawa 67’s: It’s back to back first star honours for Monahan after scoring 2 goals and adding 4 assists and finishing with a plus 5 in 3 games last week. The week started with a one assist effort in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Kingston Frontenacs. Then came a trip to the Soo and a 6-1 win over the Greyhounds and being named the game’s first star after posting two assists. The week ended in Sudbury with a 4-3 shootout victory over the Wolves. Monahan scored twice and added an assist and earned the games third star.

2nd Star-Spencer Martin-Mississauga Steelheads: It was another solid week for Martin after stopping 30 of 31 shots for a .968 save percentage in two games. That came in a 4-1 victory over the Peterborough Petes. The lone goal Martin allowed came with just 13 seconds remaining in the game. Martin was named the games second star.

3rd Star-Ryan Hartman-Plymouth Whalers: Hartman recorded two goals and added an assist for the Whale in two games last week. Hartman scored a goal in Plymouth’s 3-2 win over the Sarnia Sting and was given the games third star. That was followed by a 7-5 loss in the rematch on home ice in which Hartman had a goal and an assist.
