Today we announce the Draft Eligible 3 stars for week 6 of the Ontario Hockey League season. Players that are eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft for the first time and any goaltender available for the draft are considered.

1st Star – Nikolay Goldobin – Sarnia Sting: It’s hard when your team is struggling to stand out among your peers in the league but Goldobin is doing everything he can to help out his team. In three games last week, Goldobin scored twice and added six assists. He registered a single assist in an 8-3 loss to the high powered Soo Greyhounds to start the week. That was followed by a goal and three assists in second loss to the Barrie Colts, this time 7-5. A goal and two assists wasn’t enough to save the Sting from losing a third consecutive game last week, a 5-4 decision to the Plymouth Whalers, a game in which he earned second star honors.

2nd Star – Michael Bunting – Soo Greyhounds: It seems like every week, someone different steps up for the high flying Soo Greyhounds and last week it was Bunting’s turn. He scored four goals and added two assists in leading the Greyhounds to a perfect week. He scored three times and added an assist and was the game’s first star in the 8-3 win over the Sting. He followed that up with a goal in the Greyhounds 7-5 win over the Belleville Bulls. The week ended when he assisted once in a 4-2 win over one of the top teams from the east, the Kingston Frontenacs.

3rd Star – Kyle Jenkins – Soo Greyhounds: The defenseman was another reason the Soo Greyhounds just kept rolling as he notched two goals and three assists and finished the week a plus four. The OHL rookie had two assists in the win over the Sting, a goal and an assist in the win over Bulls and a goal in the win over the Frontenacs.
