Pictured is reliable defenceman Steve Silas who is set to ‘give it a go’ tonight vs. the Fronts.  He has not suited up since February 20 due to injury.  Nikki Petti is also expected to suit up for this contest.

Belleville at Kingston

In the only game in the league tonight, teams at opposite ends of the standings will meet in Kingston.  This game is a rescheduled tangle from a weather related delay a few weeks ago.

With Barrie’s win at Niagara on Sunday (6-5), the Colts pull even in points with the Bulls.  Based on Belleville having played fewer games, the Bulls get the nod for the #1 spot at this point. Belleville was last in action on Saturday night at Barrie. They would skate with the Colts the entire game and were tied 2-2 after regulation despite being outshot 35-18 at that point.  An overtime goal by Athanasiou would give the Colts the victory.

Kingston continues to lurk at bottom of the standings with the Steelheads and the Petes.  Both Kingston and Mississauga have 57 points while Peterborough has 55 points.  Only 2 of these 3 teams will qualify for the playoffs. After this game, all three of these teams will have 3 games remaining on their schedules. On Sunday the Fronts skated to a well earned home ice victory over the Steelheads by the score of 3-1.  Goal scorers were Vainonen, Steele and Jenkins. Mike Morrison stopped 19 of 20 shots fired his way.

These teams last played each other on March 1 with the younger Frontenacs coming out with a 3-1 victory.
