March 15 2013 Ontario Hockey League Game Day Previews

Feeling kinda inspired to do some rhyming.

Here goes nothing - hope you get my timing.

Some late season poetry which ma make things go right,

Hope I get more than 50% on this second to last night.

Peterborough at Kingston

The Petes are almost in the show just 2 more games to play

Never thought they’d hear the words ‘you made the playoffs today’.

These two teams are tied in points – each with 57.

Comeback team of the year  – might feel like second heaven.

My prediction Peterborough 4 Kingston 2

Owen Sound at Sarnia

The Attack pushed around the Spits last night 6 to 0

Catennaci had 2 goals, but there really wasn’t a hero.

Binner stopped 28 for his seventh SO of the season

Depth from top to bottom keeps them at #3 – yep that’s the reason.

The Sting are easily in their spot – the cosy seventh place

Trailing the Greyhounds by a single point – it’s still a close race.

Last night Sarault gathered 2 assists for the OHL point lead

Quiet night from his teammate – goal scoring leader named Reid.

My prediction Owen Sound 5 Sarnia 4

Kitchener at Saginaw

The Rangers are stuck in the standings, they can do no better than fourth

After this game they will travel and visit the Greyhounds in the north.

Seems to me they have been stuck in the middle of the pack,

Guelph is still hungry as they are only 4 points back.

Sarnia lost last night to Saginaw in the dreaded OT

Jason Shaw with the winner, was a great goal to see.

The Spirit are stuck in the #8 place

They held off the Spits who gave them a little race.

My prediction Kitchener 3 Saginaw 1

Barrie at Brampton

The Colts are gunning for the #1 spot

Seven wins in a row – it’s the right time to be hot.

Scheifele has been on fire – 5 points in his last game

NHL Bruins sign Camara, he should burn bright like a flame

Last night Brampton came to St. Catharines and left with a win,

Don’t think these teams will see each other this year again.

Battalion erupted for three goals in the third.

5 goals total – that amount for Brampton is absurd.

My prediction Barrie 4 Brampton 1

Erie at Guelph

Otters looking to finish things the way they should

Only one win in their last 10 doesn’t look good.

Lots of potential and many Connors,

Williams in net?  Nope, probably Dansk will get the honours.

Fan Appreciation night, with some great prizes

They are getting weary, their grumbling rises.

Will be better next year – with June’s early pick

Hopefully the foundation laid this year will stick.

The Storm are in fifth chasing the Rangers

After these 2 games, the players won’t be strangers.

Missing defender to injury – a guy named Finn

Big question for the team is how long can they win?

My prediction Guelph 4 Erie 2

Belleville at Mississauga

Bulls are atop the league’s Eastern half

Can they stay afloat and make it last?

This month the Bulls score a little more than three

Subban with no shutouts this month I see

Missy struggles to put pucks in the net

Really need some spark from Riley Brace the vet.

Today ‘we’re in seventh’ you might hear the Steelheads shout

Tomorrow maybe more sullen – ‘we’re in danger of being out’

My prediction Belleville 3 Mississauga 0

Oshawa at Ottawa

The Generals will demonstrate why they are to be feared

They have lots of power up front and behind – 67’s should be scared.

Ottawa’s last game vs. Brampton - they were outshot 55-10

Such a disparity between teams I can’t remember when.

Tonight’s game between teams at opposite ends of the rack,

Putting Ottawa in the ‘W’ column will get you called a quack.

My prediction Oshawa 5 Ottawa 0

Niagara at Sudbury

Dogs lost last night to the Battalion 5-2 at the ‘Jack’

Tought to win when you need better play from the back.

Strome was out with a bruised bone in his lower leg,

Huge ‘playoff game’ here with the Wolves just 3 ahead.

My prediction Niagara 2 Sudbury 3(OT)
