Jimmy Lodge and Nick Moutrey: 2 Spirit forwards ranked in the NHLCS prelim rankings coming in at 14th and 18th respectively. Both are progressing nicely with their offensive games with Lodge establishing himself as a threat on the PP.

Justin Kea: Cousin for former Greyhounds captain Brock Beakeboom. Justin is a former OHL 1st round pick who seems to be putting things together in his 3rd season. He has already established new career highs in both goals and assists through just 24 games.

Sudbury Wolves Friday November 23rd

2012-13 Record Overall/Home (9-13-0-2)/(6-4-0-1)

-        Game #2 of the Bell Challenge Cup. The Hounds won game 1 earlier in the season in SSM

-        Sudbury currently sits 5th in the Central Division and 8th in the Eastern Conference.

-        Comes in this week ranked 17th in the power rankings

-        Sudbury’s PP ranks 13th with a success rate of 18.8% while on the PK they come in with the 15th ranked PK cruising at a rate of 76%

-        Dominik Kubalik and Dominik Kahun: Sudbury’s 2 import picks from this past year have done a good job in giving the Wolves some much needed scoring depth. Kuhan sits 2nd on the team with 19 points in 24 games.

-        Josh Leivo: Maple Leafs second round draft pick has already taken home player of the week honours once this year. Was also a member of team OHL in the subway super series. In 24 games he has 12 goals and 13 assists.

Barrie Colts Saturday November 24th

-        Ranked 7th in the BMO/CHL top 10. The greyhounds hold a 3-1-1-0 record against such teams.

-        Beat the Hounds in Overtime in their only other meeting this season up in Sault Ste. Marie.

-        Rank 2nd in the OHL power rankings

-        2nd highest home point pct in the OHL behind only the Niagara Ice Dogs.

-        2nd best PP in the league with a 32% success rate. The PK is almost as bad as the Greyhounds with a success rate of only 73%

Erik Bradford: The 22nd ranked skater in the OHL in the recently released NHL Central Scouting prelim rankings. A late ’94 he has 8 goals in 23 games this year

Brendan Lemieux: 16 year old son of Claude, he recently committed to the Colts forgoing a NCAA scholarship.

Mark Schifiele: NHL 1st round draft pick who has scored an NHL goal in a short stint last year. Played on Canada’s world junior team last year. Scored a Hat Trick in the Colts trip up to Sault Ste. Marie earlier this year including the OT winner.
