Draft Eligible OHL Statistical Leaders Week 19
Don’t look now but Jimmy Lodge is making a move
As week 19 of the Ontario Hockey League comes to a close, there have been some risers and fallers among players eligible for the NHL Draft for the first time and some more than interesting battles that will surely come down to the last weekend of the season.
The London Knights Max Domi continues to lead the point totals with 64. Windsor Spitfires forward Kerby Rychel has taken over second spot with 56 points just ahead of Ottawa 67’s Sean Monahan’s 54. The Saginaw Spirit’s Jimmy Lodge continues to climb and sits forth with London’s Bo Horvat with 46 points despite having played in four fewer games. Ryan Hartman trails them by just 3 points with Hartman having played in 10 fewer games than Horvat.
Rychel has taken back the goal scoring lead from Domi. Rychel has 29 to Domi’s 28. Horvat sits third with 23 goals followed by Hartman with 20 and Lodge and Monahan tied at 18. However, Horvat leads in powerplay goals with 14 with Rychel placing second with 12. Monahan and Nicholas Baptiste of the Sudbury Wolves are tied with 10 a piece.
Hartman leads in penalty minutes and could very well be the only draft eligible player to reach 100 penalty minutes and register 25 goals and 35 assists. He has 104 penalty minutes. He’s followed by Soo Greyhound’s defenseman Darnell Nurse who has 95 minutes, Mack Lemmon of the Niagara Ice dogs with 92 minutes and Ryan Hutchinson of the Kingston Frontenacs with 90 minutes.
Nikita Zadorov of the Knights continues to lead in the plus/minus like he has for most of the season but Owen Sound Attack defenseman Chris Bigras is closing the gap quickly. Bigras sits with a plus 29. He’s followed by Domi with a plus 26, Justin Bailey of the Kitchener Rangers with a plus 21 and teammate Zach Nastasiuk with a plus 15.
