There were some very solid performances last week from the draft eligible players, but there can only be three stars. It wasn’t an easy choice. The results are in, so here are your three stars:

1st Star – Kerby Rychel – Windsor Spitfires Rychel had 3 goals and 4 assists in 3 games last week in what was probably his best performance of the season. The week began with a 2 goal 2 assist effort in a 6-1 win over the Saginaw Spirit which earned him the games first star. That was followed by a 1 goal and 1 assist effort in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Barrie Colts and the games third star. The week ended in a pointless effort in a 1-0 loss to the Owen Sound Attack where the only goal of the game was scored on a penalty shot. Rychel was off to a somewhat slow start by his standards and hopefully this is the beginning of a good finish for the rest of the season.

2nd Star - Ryan Hartman – Plymouth Whalers Hartman had a solid offensive performance for the Whalers himself. He scored twice and added three assists in three games for the Whale. He posted 1 goal and one assist in the Whalers 8-7 loss to the Saginaw Spirit. He then posted a single assist in the Whalers 3-2 loss to the Belleville Bulls and closed the week out with another one goal, one assist effort in a 3-2 win over the Ottawa 67’s, where he scored the game winner and was the games third star.

3rd Star – Max Domi – London Knights Domi led his Knights to three consecutive wins with 3 goals and 3 assists in those contests. In the first game, the Knights were down 3-0 entering the third period when Domi scored twice en route to the Knights 4-3 overtime victory. He also assisted on the tying goal and was the game`s first star. That was followed by an assist in a 5-2 win over the Owen Sound Attack. Finally, another goal and assist in a 4-3 win over the Kitchener Rangers earned him first star honors for the second time in 3 games.
